Become a sponsor for an individual child’s education (see attached sponsorship document for more information about the process and responsibilities). See the “Personal” section for biographies and photos of some of the children for whom sponsorship is currently being sought.
Help fund raise for projects like the ones below, either by donating personally or through your family or by getting a group of like minded people together. Members of local organizations are especially well placed to do this through their school, university, band, soccer team, or Rotary, Service or other club.
Projects:

Current projects in need of funding as a whole OR in part, principally involve the new school see “The School’ built in Ssenge. Only phase one of construction is complete and although open the school lacks many essential facilities that it requires in order to fully meet the needs of the children and community it serves.
A source of clean water for those attending the school to drink, and water for optimal sanitation. (Water currently has to be brought in cans by bicycle to the school to supplement the rainwater collection system installed). Consultation is in progress with the required expert but a lined well Estimate $3000.00, and ‘Biosand’ filter with related training/, maintenance Estimate $4000.00 will likely be required.

Four cows to provide milk as part of the school lunch program (The community identified the need for children to be provided with lunch daily. It is recognized that without sound nutrition a child’s academic ability is compromised. Milk is an excellent component of healthy meal for growing children) Estimate $2200.00
Library furniture, books and computers (These are essential resources for today’s learners) Estimate $3500.00
Supplies and furnishings for the clinic building. The clinic is intended to provide for the immediate needs of the school and health promotion and care for the broader community. (This community-identified resource requires furnishings, stocking with basic medical and first aid supplies (dressings/antibiotic ointment, anti-malarial drugs, antibiotics, anti-fever medication and analgesics (pain relief) and products for health promotion (de-worming medication, tooth brushes/tooth paste, vitamins/iron for malnourished children). The exact inventory will be determined in consultation with our local medical advisor. Estimate $5000.00
Supplemental funding to enable dual story construction of phase 2 of the school building (as suggested by local Rotary). This will make optimal use of the land, and provide more comprehensive facilities for the resident children, but requires clay rather than mud bricks and more substantial foundation work and engineering to meet building code standards. Estimate $7000.00
Residential dormitory facilities (one for boys and one for girls) to provide accommodation for vulnerable children cared for by African Hearts (Both the present cohort living in Ssenge, and a larger number of those still homeless in the Kiseyni slum, who will be relocated to the Ssenge community and the care of African Hearts once facilities are available). Estimate $20,000.00
